ANNUAL
REPORT
SENIOR
TEAM MANAGER
THE 84th
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Rhyl Pavillion
Six completed seasons as Senior Manager, in which have
enjoyed immensely, and for the record,
for those who keep them! NO ..this is not a
repeated report !!! but do sometimes wonder if l
have become part of the furniture
At this point, l could go on for another 15 pages like
our fellow friend from
l am greatly in his
debt!........ but gladly, he just accepts a cup of tea
Again, not going to go into the nitty
gritty stuff for obvious reasons, but with the demands of
everything
in general!!!!!...and a very trying season in more ways than one! and still do feel very
strongly
that there is not enough support out there, especially from the players that
have had so
much out of the game
..and still
do very little in putting anything in return!
We have today, a new Chief Executive in place, along
with the new WCGBA structure, to which all
Agree, it has had its teething problems, but rest
assured, l personally feel we are on the right track,
Not forgetting though, as stated in my 2009 report....dont
be shy in coming forward, we all know
You want the best for Welsh bowls around the
greens
..its so easy, the Sad part,
none of us are getting any
younger!
And without naming numerous, some are sadly no longer
with us
..

Yet again, a very good display from the selected
squad, with many showing they are very
comfortable
on a marvellous playing surface
Full marks to Steve Dace for stepping in
for Ivor Jones! to which was
unlucky not to make the
original twelve, plus, Kris Fernley on his debut, yet another
youngster, who hopefully can follow
with performances for many years to come, just like Jason
Jones... who once again, which can
only describe for his performance with one word....'brilliant'
All who were fortunate to be at Penwortham Sports were yet again treated
to
A afternoon of first class bowling and
support by both teams on a immaculately prepared
Green that brought out the very best in all the
bowlers.
Special praise must go the travelling supporters for the encouragement
to their team and to
the friendly banter from both sides, but it is
always nice to hear, it was a great advertisement
for the sport also, with both sides of
supporters clapping & cheering good woods by bowlers
no matter which side they were on.

...NOT
..a unique defeat at Betws, once to
many maybe? with
My initial idea for this game, was to call
a bluff !!!! but that is in
hindsight and full credit should go
to the
Gutted, as l am sure most are and can fully understand the away team/supporters
frustration !!!!
Top knotch
performance once again and a game from all accounts, that they could have won
at
Buddies !!!!!
Lessons learnt for all, in all departments hopefully, but stand by
decisions 100% on the selected
Squads, as for away squad/support, something the hosts never forget!!!!!!!!!!
(WALES loose by 33 Chalks overall)

An excellent day for Welsh bowls once
again, Every player played with pride, with that,
coupled by the accustomed support from the welsh contingency,
their intentions on the minds of the other counties.
A very young squad of players was selected,
some in their first supplementary for
but having the encouragement and support from the more
senior members every
step of the way, the experience they all gained I am sure
will be invaluable to them in their
future and hopefully the less experienced learnt and realise what level some
play !!!!
I am sure we can all look forward with
great optimism for 2010 and not be too disappointed
with 2009 which provided us with some highs, with some
great results and the inevitable
disappointments that make sport so unpredictable, but I am sure with
hard work, we will all
together achieve our ultimate goal in bringing the Endsleigh Trophy home to
A lot of pluses on the day and a bit of a
habit with
need to take a serious look on some of the organisation of
this event !!!!!!!!!!!!

Special mention
to my co-ordinator Terry Williams, we have both now experienced the
work involved! and
realise all the work that Mel carried out, to which sadly, l failed his
dream also!!!......but sure now, he is up there,
having a good old natter with my Father
and my Father would be informing him, like he
told myself 6 years ago
your bloody mad
lad
.
but do we listen
Finally, l would like to thank all concerned for their
support in the 2009 season i.e.The players
for there commitment, my Non
playing Captains, Welsh officials, all members of the Trefnant
and Betws-yn-Rhos
bowling Clubs once again for there green availability etc, plus, not forgetting
all WPA supporting officials,
