The Wesh Crown Green Bowling Association held a Greenkeeper's talk-in at the Halkyn Bowling Club for all clubs in the Flintshire Area on Sunday March 7th. 2010
The mornings proceedings began with the introductory DVD showing the yearly cycle of a bowling green throughout the four seasons.
After this showing a talk was given by Gareth Philips and Lee Pauley on how to take a sample of the green and analyse it's texture.
This sample can often tell the discerning groundsman what has gone on over the preceeding 5 years or so, which is so important when getting to grips with a greens current problems.
Everybody then took to the green and took and examined samples for themselves enjoying lively banter amongst one another.
Then back indoors for a question and answer session to finish the seminar off.
