The Welsh Crown Green Bowling Association is the Governing Body for Crown Green Bowling in Wales of which was formed in 1927.

Llay of Wrexham, Coed Talon of Flintshire, Denbigh of Glyndwr and Blaenau Ffestiniog from Gwynedd have all won their respective area County Cups and will play for The Welsh Championship at Aston on the 12th September. ** The away coach for the Junior Drakes Pride Junior Championship Final on 12th September is now full.**

1/ Will the proposed Junior League get up and running, and will it be a success? - See the junior section for more detais. 2/ Can the Welsh Men's Senior Team get through a strong group stage? - The team won the first match against the group favourites North Midlands, and followed that up with another excellent win against South Yorkshire, but unfortunatley lost to Derbyshire, so the answer was no. 3/ See opposite link for some interesting facts about the mathematics of bowls, as seen by Gareth Wiliams, who has got far too much time on his hands !!! 4/ Is Jordan Riley the youngest player ever to play for Wales? Answers on a postcard to.... PS - He won his first game. 5/ After a solid start and a strong team, how far can the Welsh Ladies go this year? sadly the answer was they did not progress through the group stage. 6/ Who will win the 84th Senior Men's Welsh Merit, and can anyone else join Eric Ashton & Gwyn Morris in being the only two players, who have won it on more than two occasions? Who can do it this year? 7/ And did you know:- the Welsh merit winner used to receive a gold watch as part of the prize. Charlie Parry being the last recipient in 19?? If you know when, again answers on a postcard to .... or stick the answer on the guest book. ... 8/ The final field for the Welsh Merit Final is set, and two players can do no 5/ above. Who are they? and now the green has been selected does it suit the 2 players..?? 9/ Where in Wrexham will the Men's Welsh Merit be held? It cannot be the Colliery, Esclusham nor Llay, as there are qualifiers from all of these clubs, The debate is over it is to be held at Pentre Broughton on Sunday 27th June starting at 1.00pm. 10/ Point No 6 was not achieved as Anthony Bailey won the Welsh Merit for the first time.. May/June/July/August. 1/ The Welsh Junior team have won their Semi against Staffordshire in the Drakes Pride Junior Championship Semi-Final, go to Junior section for details. 2/ The Welsh Junior team had another good win against North Lancs & Fylde of which secures their place in the Drakes Pride Junior Championship Semi-Final, go to Junior section for details. 3/ Nick Jones has won the Junior Welsh Merit, beating Keiron Roberts 21-11 in the final. 4/ Tom Roberts has won the Welsh Veterans Merit, 21 - 19 against Bob Dolby in the final. 5/ Anthony Bailey (Llanrwst) won his first game 21 - 12 in The All England Championship at Fleetwood but lost to previous winner Ian Ross 21 - 19 in the second round. Carl Bonatti (Llay) also won 21 - 12 in the first, but then lost in the second round, Colin Jones (Cunliffe) lost to Merseysides' merit winner Anthony Thompson, Darren Williams (Deganwy) lost to 17 against Mark Britton & Jason Jones (Sunny Rhyl) gave a good account of himself just loosing to Shropshires merit winner Martin Lloyd . 6/ John Mathews who was representing Wales in the Jack & Jean Isherwood Veteran Finals lost to the eventual winner in the Semi-Final. 7/ Linda Williams wins the Ladies' Senior Merit by beating Jane Bowler 21-19 in the final. 8/ Llay of Wrexham, Coed Talon of Flintshire, Denbigh of Glyndwr and Blaenau Ffestiniog from Gwynedd have all won their respective area County Cups and will play for The Welsh Championship at Aston on the 12th September. 9/ Lewis Scott (St.Asaph) has finished as the League Table winner after the last round of The WPA at Conway full details on WPA page. 10/ For the third year running a Deganwy player has won the WPA Final Day Competition, when Peter Jones beat Anthony Bailey (Llanrwst) in the Final. 11/John Bailey does a clean sweep at the Colwyn Bay Bowls festival in winning the Bill Hughes, George Davies, and with his partner Maureen Morgan the mixed doubles. He also added the Alan Jones Memorial Trophy for good measure, to make him still arguably Wales' number one player.
Brenda Jones has made history in becoming the first lady president of the WCGBA.
