Welsh Junior Individual Merit Championship Rules      

   1. The competition to be played annually. 

   2. Entrance fee (for the Preliminary rounds) to be determined by the Management Committee.

   3. Prize money to be determined annually by the Management Committee. The winner to hold the Shield for twelve months as Junior Champion Crown Green Bowler of Wales. The Shield cannot be won outright and must be returned suitable engraved. 

   4. PLAYER ELIGIBILITY :- Any male player who is a bone-fide member of any Bowling Club affiliated to one of the four Area Members of the Association, AND who has paid their W.C.G.B.A. Registration Fee for the current year, AND is in possession of a valid B.C.G.B.A. Life-Membership Card, AND has not reached the age of 18 years on the 1st of January of the year of the  competition. 

    5.  The Competition shall be played on one day at a venue to be determined by the Deputy President

    6.       PRACTICE - Competitors will not be allowed practice on the selected greens, other than in  League or Cup matches already arranged.               PENALTY - DISQUALIFICATION 

         Official-in-Charge to consult with Committee Members present on all areas of contention. 

          A playing member of the Venue Club is barred from competing in the competition.     7. All games are 21 up and played under the British Crown Green B.A.'s Rules.

   8.       Referees and Measurers officiating in the competition shall be appointed by the Welsh Crown Green Referees Society.

   9.       The Management Committee shall have the power to elect qualifiers for the British Crown Green Bowling Association Final in accordance with the British Crown Green Bowling Association allocation. The Management Committee will decide on the commencement and scratching times.    10.     All players must be present and available to take the green when called. If a player is not present at this time then his opponent is awarded the game 21-0.

    11.       NUMBER OF SIMULTANEOUS JACKS IN PLAY - normally four jacks at a  time, per green. The Official in Charge to have the discretionary power to increase to 5 or 6 jacks, under exceptional circumstances such as shortage of time owing to rain or darkness, and avoidance of postponement.

    12.       WEATHER CONDITIONS - The Home Green Club through their Officials or the Park's Supervisor, if a Public Green, shall, in consultation with the Official-in-Charge and the Referee, decide whether the competition shall be adjourned or postponed owing to inclement weather.

    13.      All players must be registered with the B.C.G.B.A. and the W.C.G.B.A.. In default a player will forfeit his/her game 21-0 and the matter will be reported to the W.C.G.B.A. for further consideration.

    14.     All players are subject to random testing for drugs. Any bowler who refuses to sign a declaration that he/she signifies his/her willingness to be tested during practice or competition will be reported to the W.C.G.B.A. who shall immediately suspend that player in taking part in any competitive Crown Green Bowling  pending an enquiry.

15.     In the event of any matter arising not covered by these rules then the decision of the Official in Charge is final and binding.
