WPA GROUPS POINTS SYSTEM 2009
GROUP OF 4
Winner 10
Second Place 6
Third Place 4
Fourth Place 2
Winner is the player who wins 2
games in group.
Fourth place is the player who loses 2 games in group.
Second and Third place decided as follows –
Both players have won one game and lost one and they have
played each other - The winner of that game is deemed Second Place.
OR
Both players have won one game
and lost one and they have not played each other. NOTE :
They have both beaten the same player and lost to the same player.
The second place (6pts) / third place (4pts)
is decided on best aggregate, then points for, then points against over
their 2 games.
If these are exactly equal then they become joint second
place and receive 5 points each.
GROUP OF 3
When one player wins 2 games
then he is the winner of group and receives 10 points
The player who wins 1 game is second and receives 6
points
The player who loses both games receives 2 points
OR
When all 3 players win one
game each then aggregate points, points for, points against decide positions –
Winner: 6 points, second place: 5 points, third place: 4 points. In
the event of each of the 3 players winning one game each by same score, 5
points will be allocated to all 3 players.
